What Is The Campfire lunch & Nature immersion about?
Nature is the theme for this day!
Embark on a gourmet campfire cooking adventure nestled in a lush rainforest atop the mountains, overlooking the Scenic Rim during the Eat local month this June.
This outdoor experience is unlike any other. Led by local guide Tatiana, you will learn valuable cooking skills and the art of campfire cuisine, using seasonal vegetables sourced directly from the region’s farmers.
This is a step up from the usual damper and jaffles. Tatiana will demonstrate how to prepare delicious vegetarian recipes, infused with French and international flare, for your next camping adventure. Learn to transform a whole roasted pumpkin into a crowd-pleasing salad, cook tagines over the campfire, create a delicious tarte Tatin, and more.
The experience is complete with a rustic long table lunch set amidst the beautiful Eucalyptus forest.
Sit back and relax as you take in stunning panoramic views of the valley below. It’s the ultimate slow food experience.
After lunch, enjoy a guided walk around the private Nature Refuge at Wild Mountains Environmental Education Centre. Here, Eucalypt forest and rainforest converge, supporting an abundance of plants and wildlife. You may even have the chance to spot a koala!
Guests are advised to wear boots, walking shoes, or sneakers with sturdy grip soles. It is also recommended to bring a raincoat, notepad, pen, and payment for extra beverages (one beverage is included with the experience). Transportation will be arranged for pick up and drop off at the base of the mountains, as access requires a 4WD.
